Das übergeordnete Ziel von HeriSol ist die innovative Integration sauberer Energietechnologien in das architektonische Erbe Europas. Dabei werden denkmalgeschützte Gebäude zu aktiven Elementen der Energiesysteme. Im Speziellen geht es um die Entwicklung von bauteilintegrierten färbigen Photovoltaikelementen, Mikrowärmepumpen und Energiegemeinschaften. Neben der Terrassenhaussiedlung werden in drei weiteren Demonstratoren, in Spanien, Lettland und Irland, diese Maßnahmen entwickelt und erprobt. Das unter dem europäischen ProgrammCET – Clean Energy Transition geförderte Projekt mit 12 Partner:innen wird vom Fraunhofer-Institut Deutschland geleitet. Die nationale Leitung für Österreich liegt beim Institut für öffentliches Recht und Politikwissenschaften der Universität Graz. Das Institut für Wohnbauforschung begleitet die Umsetzung der Maßnahmen im österreichischen Demonstrator Terrassenhaussiedlung Graz. Methodisch wird dies durch die Initiierung einzelner Living Labs transdisziplinär und somit partizipativ umgesetzt.

The overarching goal of HeriSol is the innovative integration of clean energy technologies into Europe’s architectural heritage, transforming listed buildings into active components of future energy systems. Specifically, the project focuses on the development of building-integrated colored photovoltaic elements, micro heat pumps, and energy communities. In addition to the Terrassenhaussiedlung in Austria, these measures are being developed and tested in three other demonstrator sites in Spain, Latvia, and Ireland. The project, funded under the European CET – Clean Energy Transition program, involves 12 partners and is coordinated by the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany. The national coordination for Austria is led by the Institute of Public Law and Political Science at the University of Graz. The Institute for Housing Research is supporting the implementation of the measures in the Austrian demonstrator site, the Terrassenhaussiedlung in Graz. Methodologically, this is being carried out through the transdisciplinary and thus participatory establishment of individual Living Labs.
