On 31 March 2017, the SONTE Smart City project held its kick-off event with residents at the centre of the Terrassenhaussiedlung in Graz/St. Peter.
Alongside introducing SONTE and the full project team, the event focused on initial contact and exchange with residents. Experts and interested residents held group discussions at thematic tables covering energy and buildings, mobility, green and open spaces, and community and neighbourhood. Interest in the project and enthusiasm for contributing ideas and participating were very strong.
Further informal opportunities for exchange with residents were planned to encourage participation and strengthen communication with the SONTE team. Starting on Tuesday, 25 April 2017, weekly SONTE consultation hours were scheduled from 4 to 6 pm at the centre of the Terrassenhaussiedlung.
