Prosumer Solutions for Heritage Buildings based on BIPV
HeriSol’s overarching objective is to integrate clean energy technologies innovatively into Europe’s architectural heritage, turning heritage buildings into active elements of energy systems. Specifically, it develops coloured building-integrated photovoltaic components, micro heat pumps and energy communities. Alongside the Terrassenhaussiedlung in Graz, these measures are developed and tested at three further demonstrators in Spain, Latvia and Ireland. Funded under the European CET – Clean Energy Transition programme, the project involves 12 partners and is led by the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany. Austria’s national lead is the Institute of Public Law and Political Science at the University of Graz. The Institute of Housing Research supports implementation at the Austrian demonstrator, the Terrassenhaussiedlung in Graz, using individual living labs for a transdisciplinary and participatory process.
