Our vision is to make housing for people in urban areas affordable and improve quality of life.
People and their living environment are at the centre of the Institute of Housing Research’s work. By systematically recording and analysing housing needs, we identify conditions that improve living environments for individuals, communities and society.
Our integrated work covers project development, participation processes, research and the evaluation of existing and new housing projects. Our holistic approach involves all housing stakeholders: policy-makers, public administration, planners, the construction industry and, of course, residents.
Our work ranges from basic research and planning, technical, economic, legal and empirical studies to developing new housing models and testing them in pilot projects. In collaboration with university and non-university institutions, we develop new approaches to housing research. The institute is a reliable partner for housing policy research and development.
